Application Forms for admission to degree and diploma programmes in the University for Development Studies (UDS) are now on sale to Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) holders, West African Senior School Certificate (WASSC) holders, HND/Diploma holders, Mature applicants and State Registered Nurses (SRN).
SSSC/WASSC candidates who took the examination in November/December the previous year and are awaiting results are also eligible to apply. Such candidates should provide details of the examination and index numbers and forward the results to the University as soon as they are available indicating their preferred courses.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
Undergraduate programmes are pursued under the following Faculties, School and Centre:
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
SSSC/WASSC Holders
All SSSC/WASSC holders seeking admission into the degree programmes must have passes/credits in;
The aggregate score of the six subjects mentioned above must be 36 (WASSCE Scale) or better. The minimum score accepted by the University is a credit of C6 in each of the six subjects.
HND and other Diploma Holders
HND and other Diploma holders seeking admission into the degree programmes should posses a First Class or Second Class Upper Division in the relevant area.
The applicants would be admitted to year two (2) after successfully passing selection interviews to be conducted by the University.
Mature Applicants. (This is applicable to only BSc Mathematical Science option courses, IDS and ICD).
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
District Assemblies, Communities and NGO’s are encouraged to identify and sponsor potential candidates. Details of the cost of training will be sent directly to short listed applicants.
Degree Holders
BSc Certificate holders (with First Class or Second Class Upper Division) in the relevant science field would be admitted to pursue MBChB as full fee-paying students.
State Registered Nurses
Applicants to the 3-year Nurse Practitioner programme or 3-year Nursing must have State Registered Nurses Certificate with at least three years experience.
Two routes for admission are available
The University shall admit 10% on fee-paying basis.
Fee-paying applicants must clearly write “Fee-paying” on their completed application form.
For the avoidance of doubt the University for Development Studies has adopted the following grading equivalences for SSSCE and WASSE;

Candidates wishing to apply for admission may purchase Application Forms from the following recommended Post Offices throughout the country.

A set of application forms costs GH˘50.00 for direct applicants and GH˘55.00 for Mature, Diploma/HND and Bridging applicants.
Completed Application Forms should be returned to the following address by April 03, 2009. However, all mature applications should be returned by February 19, 2009.

POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The general public is hereby informed that the University for Development Studies (UDS) will start Postgraduate Programmes in the following areas during the 2008/2009 academic year.
Faculty of Integrated Development Studies
Entry requirements
All the new courses are full time academic programmes.
MPhil In Development Studies
This is a four-year sandwich programme leading to the award of an MPhil in Development Studies. This course requires that Students spend 3 months each year in residence. The remaining 9 months of the year are dedicated to on-the-job periodically supervised research. The course centre is the Navrongo Campus of the University.
