CENTRE FOR INTER-DISCIPLINARY RESEARCH The Centre for Inter-disciplinary Research (CIR) was established in July 2000 to promote and conduct basic, applied, policy-oriented, and demand-driven research and scholarship, and also to facilitate same in all the academic Faculties of the university viz. Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Integrated Development Studies and the School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The Centre promoted and solicits for commissioned research and consultancies. Staff of the Centre also participates in teaching activities of the various Faculties. A baseline survey on knowledge behaviour and attitudes in relation to HIV/AIDS as part of the centre's HIV/AIDS Education and Training project in Tertiary Institutions in Northern Ghana funded by the Ghana AIDS Commission:
LINKAGES Internally, there is collaboration between the Centre and the academic Faculties in the areas of research and teaching. Also, within the Catchment Area, the Centre seeks out partners among MDAs, CBOs, FBOs, LNGOs, and INGOs, in research and training for sustainable development. Internationally, the Centre continues to seek out collaborative linkages with academic institutions and research centres and institutes. |
