The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, Dr Elkanah Oyetunji and a Professor in the faculty, Prof Kaku Sagary Nokoe have been offered AAU Exchange Fellowship to assist with research and staff development of sister AAU member institutions in Nigeria. Dr Oyetunji, a PhD graduate from the University of Ibadan visited his alma mater for 4 weeks working on multi-objectives scheduling. Professor Nokoe was tasked with the review and development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in applied statistics at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology and is due to return by mid August 2010. Professor Nokoe will later be joined by a biometrician from South Africa to re-train lecturers engaged in the RUFORUM regional Master of Science in Research Methodology course in Uganda from mid to end of August.
UDS is proud of its participation in the exchange programme. In the 2009 session, Dr Joyce Bediako of the Department of Agribusiness and Dzibode Doke of the Faculty of Integrated Development Studies were on the exchange programme at the Africa University (Zimbabwe) and University of Limpopo (South Africa). Professors Okafor and Mojekwu from the University of Lagos and Professors Adeniran and Ozoje and Dr Mrs. Adebanji of the University of Agriculture also visited the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences on AAU mission.
