Applied Statistics

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED AND BUSINESS MATHEMATICS

Dr. Seidu AlhassanDr. Seidu Al-hassan is a Senior Lecturer and holds a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics and a Diploma in Education. He has over twelve years teaching and research experience. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he provides technical assistance to governmental and non-governmental agencies on a consultancy basis in areas such as community development, micro-finance and Development and Management of small business enterprises. He is a network member of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC). His research interests are poverty, policy management, community development, applied microeconomic theory, literacy, and peace education.

 

Abdulai Abdul-MalikABDULAI ABDUL-MALIK attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He later proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon, where he pursued an MPhil. Degree in Economics. He is currently a Lecturer at the University for Development Studies, Navrongo Campus. His research interest is Development and Labour Economics.

 

 

Luu YinLuu Yin, MBA(KNUST), B'Com (UCC, Ghana) and Dip in Data Processing (KNUST).. He is Graduate Member of the CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ADMINISTRATORS AND MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS [CIAMC] (Ghana) and the International Professional Managers Association of UK; and Registered Student of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He has over 10 years of teaching in second cycle institutions on Part-Time Basis and about three years teaching and research experience in the university. He has served as an Accounting Officer in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology since 1987, He had his first paper (MBA Thesis) published in the International Journal of Research in Management Sciences. He has so far supervised six undergraduate students in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics and Financial Mathematics.  Luu's current interests are generally in the area of Exploratory or investigative research designs in the fields of Accounting and finance, Assets and Risk Management.

OLADEJO N.K has Bsc,Msc.(Mathematics) at Unilorin and MBA (Finance) at LAUTECH both in NIGERIA.He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has Diploma in Computer Science.He has published in several peer-reviewed journal and has over 10 years of teaching and research experience.He is a member of Ghana Mathematics Society and the Nigerian Mathematics society.He is currently a PhD.student and his  research interest is ''Optimal Stochastics Control Theoty with Applications''.

M.M IddrisuM. M. Iddrisu, a lecturer in the Department of Applied and Business Mathematics, University for Development Studies, holds a Masters degree in Pure Mathematics (Mathematical Analysis) from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway. He has teaching interest in both Pure and Applied Mathematics with a university teaching record of over four (4) years. His research interests are generally in Differential Equations, Fluid Mechanics, Interpolations and Functional Analysis.  He is currently working on the area of inequalities.  Mr. Iddrisu is an executive member of the Ghana Mathematics Society (GMS).

 

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE

DrOyetDr. E.O. Oyetunji, graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Electrical Engineering (Computer and Control Systems) from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin. He has M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (Operations Management) from the University of Ibadan. He has about 17 years work experience as: Data Analyst, Computer Programmer, Research Database Manager, and Visiting Scholar (Lecturer) at international research institute and Universities. He has attended numerous national and international conferences and has published extensively in several peer-reviewed journals. His research interest includes production scheduling, algorithm design and radio frequency identification amongst others. He is a member of the following professional bodies: International Biometric Society (IBS), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).

 

kazeem1Dr. K.A. Gbolagade received his PhD in Computer Engineering from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He obtained his M.Sc and B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan and Ilorin, respectively, in Nigeria. Presently, he is a senior lecturer. At the moment, he is supervising two PhD students and two M.Phil/M.Sc students and has successfully co-supervised two M.Sc students. He has several publications in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He has also served as a peer-reviewer to several major international journals and conferences. He is a member of the IEEE and many other international computing societies. He has worked as a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Lisbon in Portugal. His research interests include Digital Logic Design, Computer Arithmetic, Residue Number Systems, and VLSI Design.

 

G.K. Armah obtained MBA (MIS) from University of Ghana, B.Sc. Computer Science from KNUST and has ten years teaching and research experience. Published a paper and supervised about 30 HND and B.Sc. students in computer science. Areas of interest include Software Engineering, Database Management and Logic computing.

 

 

DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED STATISTICS

 

Albert Luguterah, Graduated Msc in Statistics, University of Cape Coast, Bsc in Statistics with Mathematics, University of Ghana, and is currently a PhD student in Applied Statistics. He has over fifteen years of teaching and research experience in Statistics at various levels. He is a member of the International Biometric Association. Albert’s interest are in Applied Statistics, particularly Social and Medical statistics.

 

ZebasiMr. ZEBAZE has worked in both National and International Research Institute for about 20 years as Biometrician.  During that period he was teaching Statistics (Part time) in Faculties and Colleges.  He is now a lecturer of statistics in Faculty of Computational and Developmental Mathematics and he is doing his research on Design of Experiment.
