He is also an external assessor for professionals in a number of institutions and a tutor in Information Studies at the Tamale Workers’ College run by the Institute of Adult Education, University of Ghana, Legon.
His passion to help emerging scholar has motivated him to facilitate a number of workshops in various tertiary institutions on fundamentals of getting published in scholarly journals. He has been the Editor-in-Chief of the Ghana Library Journal since 2005, and serves on the editorial boards of several journals including the Development Spectrum, and the Ghana Journal of Development Studies. Back in Ghana, he was at the University of Cape Coast Library and then finally moved to become the first University Librarian of the University for Development Studies in 1993, where he has successfully established a multi campus library system involving four campus libraries spread over three regions in Ghana.
He was a Visiting University Librarian to the University of Education, Winneba in 1988 and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. during the 2009/2010 academic year. By this feat, he has the unparalleled privilege of working in all five public universities in Ghana.
Mr. Antwi has been involved in consultancies for polytechnics at Ho, Wa and Sunyani, all in Ghana, where he actually wrote the blue print for their establishment and management. He also played a key role in pioneering the set-up of a community library at Nsuta in the Ashanti Region in 2008, with an initial stock of 10,000 volumes and a variety of ICT equipment.
Through his initiative, the Committee of University Libraries and their Deputies instituted a seminar series; the maiden one he successfully organized in 1996.
While in Nigeria, Mr. Antwi was the Treasurer of the Bauchi State Chapter of the Nigeria Library Association from 1981 to 1985, and Secretary of the Academic and Research Libraries Section of the association from 1986 to 1990.
