Dr Elias N. K. Sowley is currently the Director of the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU). It was established in 2008 to ensure quality management systems and pursue excellence in Teaching, Research and provision of service as well as helping achieve UDS vision of advancing knowledge for service for sustainable development. In the light of this, a maiden workshop was organised on 29th April, 2008 to discuss these issues. Earlier, some selected senior members were drawn from Faculties/Schools, Departments, Sections and Units including the Library on all the Campuses of the University to participate in a Workshop, which took place at the UDS International Conference Centre, Tamale on 7th April, 2009 to draft a Quality Assurance Document. The Unit is currently has no Coordinator.
