Mission and Vision

 

The Department aspires to be a unit of excellence within the Faculty of Integrated Development Studies, devoted to creating deeper and scientific understanding of society and its governance system through an integrated approach to teaching and learning.

 

The vision is actualized through:

 

Active co-operation and working with other units of the faculty

Promoting effective teaching, learning and research

Networking with other stakeholders

Using co-operative practically-oriented and participatory teaching and learning techniques

 

The Department of Social, Political &Historical Studies offers courses in socio-political and historical studies under the Integrated Studies Programme at the undergraduate level It also offers students the opportunity to pursue optional courses in Social and Development Adminstration. Furthermore, the department seeks to mount masters and doctoral programmes in social administration for the 2011/12 academic year.

Introduction

 

The Wa Campus French Language Centre was established in November 2006.  The Centre serves all the faculties of the Wa Campus and has over three thousand students (3000).
