Background

Benjamin Musah Abu is a Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural and Food Economics, University for Development Studies and a Ph.D. candidate in Applied Agricultural Economics and Policy, University of Ghana where he received M.Phil. in Agricultural Economics. His research concentrates on applied microeconomic analysis of productivity, food security and nutrition, and agricultural commercialization of smallholder farm households. He has been engaged with the University for Development Studies for about 11 years and has taught various courses including Microeconomic Theory, Mathematics for Economists, Introduction to Microeconomics, Introduction to Agricultural Economics and Entrepreneurship Development. He is a member of the Econometrics Society (ES) and the International Association of Agricultural Economics (IAAE). He has consulted for Friedrich Ebert Stiftung-Ghana (FES-Ghana), Oxfam-Ghana and Trias-Ghana. He has also won research grants from the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP). He has published various journal articles in reputed peer reviewed journals such as African Development Review, Journal of Agricultural and Food Economics and Agricultural Finance Review.
