Dr. Eric Adjei Lawer is a Biometrician and Conservationist with over ten years of research and teaching experience at the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Management, University for Development Studies, Ghana. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Freiburg, Germany. His first and second degrees are in Agriculture Technology and Biometry respectively, both obtained from the University for Development Studies. He currently engages in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students, in addition to conducting research and providing community service.
He is interested in evidence-based synthesis for nature conservation and has authored numerous papers on the subject. In particular, he focuses on the impact of land use and climate change, among other factors, on the well-being of humans and biodiversity across ecosystems and advocates for nature-based solutions to address these impacts. He has experience in sampling techniques, designing ecological experiments, conducting biodiversity surveys, and data modelling, and is proficient in R programming and QGIS software.
