Mr. Godwin Poreku is an Assistant Lecturer and an Assistant Farm Manager of the Department’s farm and is currently the Seminar Coordinator. Mr. Poreku obtained a first degree in Agriculture Technology (Renewable Natural Resources Option) from UDS, a diploma certificate from the Agriculture University of Iceland and MPhil. in Wildlife Management from the University of Cape Coast. Currently he undertakes teaching and research on wildlife ecology, mammalogy, range inventory, and protected area management. Mr. Poreku has experience in supervising student’s thesis in the Department. Godwin Poreku is interested in research in mammals’ ecology and diversity, populations dynamics and how they impact the human’s lives.
Mr Poreku was a member of the wildlife survey in some selected community reserves in Northern and Upper East Regions of Ghana to collect data on wildlife species present in these reserves and their uses and write a report to the Savanna Resources Management Project. A member of Evaluation of IFAD UWADEP and LACOSREP II Supported Projects in Upper West and Upper East Regions. A was Member the World Conservation Union (IUCN) Team on plant survey in the Northern Ghana wildlife corridor. He was also a member of the IUCN team that collected data on elephant movement in Northern Wildlife corridor.
