Background

Ing. Vincent Danny Gbedzi is a senior lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Mechanization and Irrigation Technology. He has more than 25 years professional experience as a lecturer in the University for Development Studies, Nyankpala campus. He was a head of department of the Department of Agricultural Mechanization and Irrigation Technology from 2014 to 2019. He has taught undergraduate level courses such as Irrigation Science, Watershed Hydrology and Management, Drainage and Flood Control. At the postgraduate level, he taught courses in Irrigation Science and Technology, and Agro-Hydrology at the department. Additionally, he also provided instruction in undergraduate courses such as Irrigation Systems Design, irrigation and Drainage Systems Data Application, Sprinkler and Drip irrigation systems in the Agricultural Engineering Department of the School of Engineering of the University for Development Studies. Under the School of Engineering WACWISA programme, he provided instruction at post-graduate level courses in Design of Surface Irrigation Systems, and Design of Sprinkler and Drip Irrigation Systems. His current research interest is Irrigation systems installation and watershed and environmental management activities and policies.

Ing Gbedzi has provided consultancy services and research in irrigation and dams design and construction over the years from Ghana Irrigation Development Authority (1990) through to the University for Development Studies (2022) where he is now on post- retirement contract. Ing Gbedzi has been involved in research and development work with both local and international non- governmental organizations such as Action Aid Ghana, World Vision, SADA-MVP, Community-Based Rural Development Programme (CBRDP), Northern Region Poverty Reduction Project (NORPREP), Village Infrastructure Project (VIP), MOAP.NW, GIZ etc.
