Dr. Daniel N. Akongyuure is an experienced Lecturer/Researcher in fisheries and aquaculture. His research interests include fish population dynamics and stock assessment of freshwater bodies, fishing gears and selectivity of gears in fisheries management, post-harvest fish management, socio-economics of fisheries and management, enhancement of freshwater fisheries through cage culture and new candidates for aquaculture. His current professional tagline is “Sustainable fisheries and aquaculture for a good health and economic development”.

Dr. Akongyuure was adjudged one of the best workers (academic staff category) on Nyankpala Campus in 2015/2016 academic year. The Alumni of the department are in touch with one another because of the creation of a common social platform by Dr. Akongyuure. He is highly focused with a comprehensive knowledge of training students, developing, implementing and maintaining fisheries/aquaculture projects to required conditions, focusing on economy, reliability, quality and sustainability. He is able to get along with both work colleagues and senior officials.
