Dr. Israel Patkuan Gamba is a Public Health Physician Specialist with the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, Accra. He became a member of faculty in 2024; he doubles as the Coordinator for Dentistry program and also the acting head of department for Community and Preventive Dentistry. He is deeply passionate about teaching, research, and mentoring young professionals, particularly in the areas of leadership and scientific inquiry. His academic background spans several distinguished institutions, including a Master of Clinical Leadership and Management (MCLAM) from the University of Ghana Business School, an MPH from the Catholic University of Ghana, a BSc Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Ghana School of Medicine and Dentistry, and a BSc Medical Sciences from the University of Ghana.
Dr. Gamba’s research interests focus on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), health inequities and disparities, health outcomes, structural and social determinants of health, healthcare access, and its impact on population well-being and areas that reflect his commitment to advancing health equity. Over the years, he has volunteered with several non-governmental organizations, including Global Brigades Ghana and Compassion Ghana. His passion for community service, youth empowerment, and public health outreach inspired the establishment of the Fant Global Initiatives, an organization dedicated to driving positive community change through service, capacity building, research, and advocacy.
Beyond his professional and academic commitments, Dr. Gamba enjoys reading, thinking, and writing. He is married and blessed with three children.
