The University for Development Studies (UDS), through the Directorate of International Relations and Advancement (DIRA), invites applications from eligible staff for Erasmus+ KA171 teaching, training or combined mobility at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Spain. Applicants should contact DIRA early to complete institutional nomination and host approval before the application deadline.

Who should apply

1. Academic and administrative staff with a contractual relationship with UDS at the time of application and throughout the mobility period.
2. Applications are open to staff across faculties and schools. Proposals involving UAB’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will receive priority during assessment.
3. Applicants must secure a Mobility Agreement accepted by UDS and UAB. Teaching or training requires at least eight hours over five working days, Monday to Friday. Combined mobility requires four teaching hours and four training hours.

Funding and costs

1. Individual support: €170 per day for up to seven days, totalling a maximum of €1,190.
2. Travel support is determined using the Erasmus distance calculator. A travel grant of €1,188 applies to distances of 4,000-7,999 km, subject to confirmation of the applicable distance band.
3. The grant contributes towards costs. Applicants must advance funds for visa, insurance, flights and accommodation and meet expenses beyond the award. Staff with eligible disabilities or health conditions are encouraged to apply for additional inclusion support. Documented eligible additional costs are subject to approval by the Spanish National Agency.

How to apply

1. Submit your application documents to DIRA at dira@uds.edu.gh with the subject “UAB KA171 Staff Mobility Application”. State your proposed UAB host unit, activities and dates.
2. Liaise with your proposed UAB host and DIRA to prepare the appropriate Mobility Agreement and obtain the required approvals.
3. DIRA will coordinate institutional nomination and submission of the nominee’s documents to UAB. Submit your documents promptly to allow time for review and processing before the UAB deadline of 1 November 2026.

1. Valid passport and current curriculum vitae.
2. Mobility Agreement for teaching, training or combined mobility, accepted by both universities.
3. Evidence of your employment start date and duration at UDS, to support preparation of the institutional nomination certificate by DIRA.
4. Official evidence for any request for inclusion support. Supporting documents must be in English or accompanied by a sworn translation into English or Spanish.

Selection and participation conditions
UAB makes the final award decision. Selection considers previous Erasmus+ KA171 participation, the Veterinary priority, the receiving unit, the feasibility and institutional value of the proposed activities, and seniority. Applicants with fewer previous mobilities receive preference. Institutional nomination does not guarantee an award.

Mobility must finish before 31 July 2028. An interinstitutional agreement must be in place before departure. Participants must obtain the required visa and travel assistance and accident insurance with at least €100,000 cover, including medical, surgical and hospital expenses and civil liability in Spain.
