Call for Applications - Erasmus+ KA171 Student Mobility at the University of Málaga, Spain

The University for Development Studies (UDS), through DIRA, invites applications from eligible undergraduate, Master's and PhD students for Erasmus+ KA171 study mobility at the University of Málaga (UMA), Spain, during the second semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. One mobility place is available to UDS across Bachelor's, Master's and PhD levels in all common areas.

1. Mobility Period and Duration

  1. All mobility under this nomination round will take place during the second semester of 2026/2027, between February and July 2027.
  2. Undergraduate and Master's: up to 5 months, from 10 February 2027 to 16 July 2027.
  3. PhD: minimum 3 months and maximum 5 months, from 10 February 2027 to 10 July 2027.

2. Eligibility

  1. Be currently enrolled at UDS in an eligible Bachelor's, Master's or PhD programme.
  2. Undergraduate applicants must be at least in their second year of study.
  3. Have satisfactory academic standing and be available for the proposed mobility period.
  4. Have sufficient proficiency in the language of instruction or research. 
  5. Meet UDS nomination requirements and the academic requirements of the relevant UMA host unit.
  6. Remain within the Erasmus+ limit of 12 months of mobility per study cycle.

3. Financial Support
Selected students may receive €850 per month plus travel support based on the applicable Erasmus+ distance band.

  1. Eligible students with fewer opportunities may receive an additional €250 per month, subject to documentation and availability of funds.
  2. The grant contributes to mobility costs and may not cover all expenses. Students should initially be prepared to meet visa, insurance, travel and accommodation costs.

4. Documents Required for UDS Pre-selection

  1. Application letter addressed to the Director, DIRA, stating programme and level of study.
  2. Current curriculum vitae.
  3. Copy of the biodata page of a valid passport.
  4. Proof of current enrolment at UDS.
  5. Official academic transcript or current academic record.
  6. One-page motivation statement on the academic value and expected benefit of the mobility.
  7. Evidence of language competence, where available.

Additional document by study level:

  1. Bachelor's/Master's: proposed Learning Agreement or preliminary study plan aligned with UMA courses.
  2. PhD: signed research proposal or PhD abstract describing the proposed research activities at UMA.

5. Selection and Nomination
UDS will pre-select and rank applicants based on academic/research performance, suitability of the study or research plan, and motivation. Nomination by UDS does not guarantee admission or a grant. Final evaluation, academic acceptance and grant allocation are made by UMA.
